Study in Australia
World-ranked Group of Eight universities, 2–4 years of post-study work rights, Australia Awards scholarships, and a clear pathway to permanent residency.
Overview of the Australian Education System
Australia is the world's third most popular study destination, home to 43 universities including the elite Group of Eight (Go8) — all globally ranked and fully government-accredited.
Australia's higher education system is regulated by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), which ensures all institutions meet strict quality benchmarks. All university courses are registered under CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) — a legal requirement ensuring international students are protected under Australian consumer law. The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) ensures all degrees are nationally consistent and globally recognised. Australia's academic year has two main intakes: February (Semester 1) and July (Semester 2), making it flexible for Indian students to plan. The Group of Eight (Go8) — comprising Melbourne, ANU, Sydney, UNSW, Queensland, Monash, Adelaide, and Western Australia — are Australia's elite research-intensive universities, comparable to the UK's Russell Group and the US Ivy League. English is the sole medium of instruction across all institutions.
